Who we are

Akaganite is operated by LEGAL_ENTITY_TO_REPLACE, which acts as the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at contact@akaganite.com.

What we collect

Your email address, the optional message you send through the alpha-access form, and the IP address of the request for rate limiting.

Why we collect it and on what legal basis

We process your email and message to evaluate your alpha-access request by hand and to send release notifications about the Akaganite toolchain. The legal basis is your consent, given via the consent checkbox on the form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

We log the IP address of each form submission for up to 10 minutes to rate-limit abusive traffic. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form operable and free of automated abuse (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use any of this data for anything else.

Who processes it on our behalf

Email and message are handled by our email-list processor, EmailOctopus (United Kingdom), and stored on their EU infrastructure. The site and the rate-limit KV namespace run on Cloudflare, which replicates data to its global edge under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses. Both providers act as processors under a Data Processing Agreement. We do not share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Email address and message: until you withdraw consent or ask us to delete them.

IP address: up to 10 minutes, then deleted automatically by the rate-limit TTL. We do not retain it after that window closes.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. We set one localStorage entry, akaganite-theme, to remember your colour-theme choice. This is strictly necessary for the interface to honour your preference across visits and does not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you,
• have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete,
• have it erased,
• restrict how we process it,
• receive it in a portable format,
• object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interest.

You can also withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing we carried out before you withdrew.

How to exercise your rights

Send a request to contact@akaganite.com. We respond within one month and there is no charge. For erasure, we delete your record on receipt and confirm by reply.

Whether you have to give us your data

You are not legally or contractually required to give us your email or message. If you choose not to, we cannot evaluate your alpha-access request or send you release notifications, but nothing else changes.

No automated decision-making

We do not make automated decisions about you, including profiling, that have legal effects or similarly significant effects. Alpha-access decisions are made by a person.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

If you believe we are mishandling your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. You can complain to the authority in your EU member state of residence or in the member state where you believe the infringement took place.

Confirmation

Submitting the form does not add you to any list on its own. EmailOctopus sends a confirmation email and we only act on records that have completed double opt-in.
